Plan your perfect Homegrown night in the District!

The Superior Business Improvement District is excited to once again have venues hosting acts for the Duluth Homegrown Music Festival for Superior night, Thursday, May 1st! We want to help you plan the perfect evening of music and fun and enjoy all that the District has to offer!

Come Early, Come Hungry!

Why not start out early with a little shopping and some great eats. Pop into Globe News to browse for vinyl, comics and more or maybe do a little thrifting around the corner at Earth Exchange. If you’re into gaming, Games Then & Now has a great selection of used and new. Maybe books are more your thing, so pop in to check out all the titles at Foxes & Fireflies Booksellers. Check out some art and gifts at Weeping Willow, Once Again Used & New, or Art on the Planet. Need a new outfit or some kicks? Angie’s Closet, emFATic+, Midwest Mamas, Tiny Riot, Outdoor North and Northwest Outlet have you covered!

Now let’s talk food. It’s important to fuel up for a big night out. If fine dining is your thing, check out the Wissota Chophouse. Feeling for burgers? 7 West and Who’s Bar are always great options. If Cubans and sandwiches are more your fare, head over to Havana’s for a bite and stay for the music. Craving some ‘za? Welcome to Pizza Town! Grab a pie at VIP, or venture off Tower to Thirsty Pagan. And for those late night munchies, Toppers and Erberts & Gerberts are open late!

Music & Drinks!

We’re proud to have a number of our BID businesses hosting live music as part of the festival. Participating venues and performances include:

Superior Tavern: Mayor’s Reception @ 5:45, Junkyard Mule @ 6:00, Seymour Glass @ 7:00, Skarlett Woods @ 8:00

Havana’s: Lovehouse @ 7:30, Beauty Mountain Road @ 8:30, Woodblind @ 9:30

The Main Club: Kaylee Matuszak @ 8:45, Alonzo @ 9:45, Cars & Trucks @ 10:45

For more information on performers and the festival, view the full schedule here!

And in case you get thirsty on your trip between venues, you can always enjoy some wine at Wine Seller Winery or grab a beverage at the Third Base Bar, or The Tap on Tower.

Leave the Driving to Us!

The SBID is once again sponsoring the DTA Homegrown Trolley. The trolley offers safe, free rides to all of the Superior Homegrown venues and picks up at regular DTA stops along the route. Service will run every 20 minutes from 7 pm until 1 am. Venues marked in blue are SBID stakeholder businesses. Click on the map graphic to view the in more detail.

Stay the Night!

Don’t feel like driving home after all the fun? Plan ahead to make it a little “staycation” and book a room at either the historic Androy Hotel or the new Cobblestone Hotel and Suites. Both hotels have all the amenities and are conveniently located right on Tower Avenue. Check with the hotels directly for room availability.

Breakfast Anyone?

If you decided to stay over, you’re probably in need of a good breakfast. Grab a hearty traditional breakfast at the Superior Family Restaurant. If gourmet waffles are your jam, look no further than Superior Waffles. More of a coffee and pastries kinda person? Check out Empire Coffee, A Dozen Excuses, Duluth’s Best Bread or 2540 Coffeehouse.
