Shop Small Superior Week
The Superior Business Improvement District and Superior-Douglas County Area Chamber of Commerce teamed up again to promote Small Business with Shop Small Superior Week – beginning on Small Business Saturday, November 30 and running through December 7.
Check out the great offers from our local small businesses all week long. You’re sure to find unique gifts for everyone on your shopping list, plus have some fun in the process.
Shop Hop Punch Cards were back! Punch cards will be available for customers to pick up and receive punches when they visit participating SBID businesses listed on the card. When you receive at least 5 punches, turn in your card to be entered into a drawing to win $50, $75 or $100 in BID Bucks. Cards will be available at all participating businesses during Shop Small Week.
NEW FOR 2024! – FREE trolley rides were available on Small Business Saturday (Nov. 30) to make shopping even easier. Park in the District and leave the driving to us. Trolley is sponsored by the SBID and City of Superior.
FOR CHAMBER MEMBERS – Pay It Forward to Shop Small Promotion! The Chamber promotes shopping local all year long! However, while shopping (and spending) local from November 30th-December 7th at any participating Shop Small Superior Week Chamber Member Business, The Chamber is giving the opportunity to Pay It Forward! For each purchase of $20 or more the customer will have the opportunity to be entered into five separate drawings to receive one of five $100 Gift Cards! A copy of the receipt must be paired with each ticket (provided at time of transaction including Name and Phone #), be collected and turned into the Chamber office by Dec. 16th by participating businesses. Each ticket turned in will be entered into five separate drawings, simply for shopping locally! Spending more locally means more chances to win! Winners will be contacted directly as well as the associated member business.

Trick or Treat in the District
SBID businesses again be offered up plenty of treats for the kids and excellent shopping for the adult’s at this year’s Trick or Treat in the District. This year’s event was held on HALLOWEEN, October 31st from 12-3:30 pm.
For added fun and safety, we again be closed a portion of Tower Avenue (14th through Broadway). This will allow trick-or-treaters a safe way to cross between businesses as well as more opportunities for businesses to get outside with special activities, sidewalk sales, street vending etc. Tower will be closed for a half hour prior to and after the event (11:30 am – 4 pm).

Snowflake Scramble!
The Snowflake Scramble was a new promotion to get people out and exploring the Superior Business Improvement District in the weeks prior to and during the Lake Superior Ice Festival. This promotion aims to get locals and visitors alike to enjoy all the great food & drink, entertainment, shopping and services the SBID has to offer with an experience driven promotion with a chance to win prizes!
How it works:
- Pickup a Snowflake Scramble card participating businesses between January 12-27, and do their special activity. When you complete the activity, you will earn a sticker for your card.
- Once you have collected 6 stickers to complete the snowflake on your card, provide your contact information on the back and turn in your card to one of the participating businesses or the SBID tent at the Ice Festival.
- Completed cards will be entered into a drawing for a chance to win one of three $100 BID Bucks prizes! BID Bucks spend like cash at participating SBID businesses!
- Winners will be notified by after Jan. 27, 2024.

Fall, Flannel & FUN!
The SBID celebrated the changing seasons with Fall, Flannel & FUN! The SBID offered a special weekend promotion to start the fall season in style with 3 special days of fun October 6-8 featuring Flannel Friday, Plaidurday Saturday and Spicy Sunday.
Flannel Friday kicked off with the start of our annual Pizza Wars competition and shifted to all the fall fun that is available in the SBID. District businesses have everything you need to jumpstart your Fall with seasonal merchandise, specials and more! Think cozy fall fashions, cute and spooky decor, seasonal services, all the warm and tasty pumpkin spice treats, etc.
